• The environment agency has issued flood warnings for parts of the country, and Ecclesfield Parish Council suggests property owners be prepared for flooding when the snow thaws.
• South Yorkshire  Police say they have conducted "high visibility" patrols of Ecclesfield Park, Scholes View, Sycamore Rd, & Primrose Drive, and  report no incidents (apart from snow balling). If people want to know more, then there is a PACT meeting at 6pm on 4th February 2010 at Unity Gardens.
• There is now a charity Shop at No 10 Church St. All offers of help and all clothes, bric a brac, book etc in good condition are very welcome.
• Ecclesfield Library have some "smart meters" to lend out. You can use them so see which appliances are using most electricity (the tumble dryer in our case).
• Apparently our early Ecclesfield Parish Records have been digitised. Just enter a name in the "Search..." Box and Click "go".
• In case someone wants to do something about it, I just found a cycling web site saying that there was nothing of specific importance in Ecclesfield!
  
• If anybody fancies applying, Sheffield Council are looking for a Community Development Worker, and a deputy head teacher.

Subject: You Choose Grants

Hello,

The Northern Community Assembly has received the You Choose grant application from your community group. We would like to invite you to attend the You Choose Event on Saturday the 30th of January at 2 to 5pm in the Gatty Hall, Priory Road, Ecclesfield.

At the event you will be invited to display a poster showing the work of your community group and you will be asked to talk for 3 minutes about your project. The idea of this is to convince the people in attendance that your project needs to be funded. Funding will be paid to the successful groups in the 2009/10 financial year.

Everyone from the East Ecclesfield Ward area (Ecclesfield, Colley and Chapeltown) is invited to attend the event and vote for the projects they would like to see funded. Please invite as many supporters from the area as possible. (Please note that only those over the age of 11 will be allowed to vote)

We are currently preparing a booklet which people will receive at the event. We would like to put a photograph of the work that your group does in this booklet. If you have a suitable photo please email one  through to communityassemblynorthern@sheffield.gov.uk before Sunday the 17th of January.
