On the Agenda Items

·        It may not concern us as much now that HS2 is not going through Meadowhall and Smithy wood, (and because completion is only scheduled for 2033), but just in case anybody is interested, there is a new list of consultations at https://www.gov.uk/government/publications?departments%5B%5D=high-speed-two-limited&publication_filter_option=consultations.

The items in the next few sections will not be gone through one by one, but can be discussed in any other business if any member wishes to bring them up.

Communications received, e.g. on ecclesfield.conservation@gmail.com

·        Sheffield City Council are asking for comments about a proposal to fine drivers who allow their engines to idle at certain air-pollution hot spots. https://sheffield.citizenspace.com/place-business-strategy/no-vehicle-idling/consult_view/

·  We received an email asking for submissions of ward priorities. See https://sheffield.citizenspace.com/communities-business-strategy/wardpriorities/

·        Since we emailed parksandcountryside@sheffield.gov.uk about the mattress, the bridge over Hartley Brook continued to deteriorate and became a real “grot spot”. When I was told that it had accumulated a TV (which could contain toxic lead), I rang Sheffield City Council, and a very nice lady assured me that they had cleared Hartley Brook on 14th July. So at least the system works - it is just that it takes 14days (target) to 2 months! (Subject to me or someone checking the area again). Perhaps this is enough - there was a recent report of a heron in the brook!

Information watch

Issues from previous minutes

If any members can help, or want to bring any of the following up for any other reason, they can do so in any other business.

*     Our on-line archive needs quite a bit of work to get going - perhaps as a window to our physical archive.

*     Designs for the pop-up banners are still in progress.

*      We have a fireproof trunk for storing archive material. Members might prefer a more generally accessible location if one can be found [As well as perhaps other things such as our Gazebo].

*      We still have plans to survey major trees within the Conservation Area.

*      Sheffield City Council’s alcohol licensing system is still not on-line. We check their (fortnightly I think) list, but our monthly meetings and downloads miss some of them, and there does not seem to be any accessible record of decisions and rules in force.

New planning applications

The following planning applications were found by searching for Ward = “East Ecclesfield”, Parish = Ecclesfield Parish Council”, postcodes S35 9?? and S35 1TE, validated from 17th Jun to 23rd Jul 2017.

[You may be able to click on the underlined links, and then the [Documents] tab to see the drawings etc. Otherwise, just go to planningapps.sheffield.gov.uk/online-applications/, then enter the “Ref. No” for the application you are interested in.
The contents of brackets and italics are my interpretation - usually made after only briefly scanning the documents]

I could not find any new planning applications this month.
