Letter received from Sheffield City Council

The SCC made the following points to us, in regard of developments within the Ecclesfield Conservation Area, and the Old Methodist Chapel in Particular

• Historic buildings within the conservation area have a presumption against demolition.
  
  
• Any application for change of use, will have to preserve or enhance the character of the area.
  
  
• developers are encouraged to retain most of the building and any restoration should be sympathetic to the streetscape.
  
  
• Conditions which may be applied to any application, include materials, parking, hard landscaping, and details such as rainwater goods and windows.
