Ref. No: 13/00137/COND | Received: Thu 10 Jan 2013 | Validated: Mon 14 Jan 2013 | Status: Pending Consideration

[this is one of the industrial buildings on the left going down from the Police station, just before the old Laboratories ]

Demolition of 2.7 metre high rear boundary wall (Conservation Area Consent Application under Reg 3 - 1992)

46 Church Street Ecclesfield Sheffield S35 9WE

Ref. No: 12/04050/RG3 | Received: Fri 21 Dec 2012 | Validated: Fri 21 Dec 2012 | Status: Pending Consideration

[This appears to be an application to demolish a “loose stone and fill” side wall separating two detached houses opposite St. Mary’s Church. Part of the wall is said to be collapsing and requires re-building – Click on the link above, and then View Supplementary information for photographs]

Single-storey rear extension and single-storey front porch to dwellinghouse

170 Ecclesfield Road Chapeltown Sheffield S35 1TE

Ref. No: 12/03955/FUL | Received: Thu 20 Dec 2012 | Validated: Fri 11 Jan 2013 | Status: Pending Consideration

[this is one of the houses on the left going to Chapeltown, but is set back from the road. The application appears to involve a major renovation and extension taking the existing front porch forward beyond the existing bay window, and extending the garage forward to meet it.]

Erection of a storage hut

25th Sheffield (Ecclesfield) Scout Group Scout Hall Yew Lane Sheffield S5 9AL

Ref. No: 12/04027/FUL | Received: Mon 17 Dec 2012 | Validated: Wed 16 Jan 2013 | Status: Pending Consideration

[The plan refers to the scout hut between Yew Lane, Greaves Road, and Reneville Court. The application proposes what looks like a concrete garage, 2 meters inside the rear and side boundaries of the site, to the right of the entrance, and behind the existing 2.5 metre high fence. ]

Eight externally illuminated fascia signs - as amended by email received 16.01.2013

184 Church Street Ecclesfield Sheffield S35 9WG

Ref. No: 12/03465/ADV | Received: Thu 08 Nov 2012 | Validated: Fri 30 Nov 2012 | Status: Granted Conditionally

[This is the old Ecclesfield Furniture Centre. It is an application on behalf of Direct Kitchens, for 8 static illuminated signs, each 0.6 metres high, and 1.7 metres wide, but raised up 2 metres above the ground]

Previous Planning Applications still pending

Coal Recovery and Restoration Scheme

Former Hesley Wood Tip Smithy Wood Road Chapeltown Sheffield S61 2SE

Ref. No: 12/01946/FUL | Received: Fri 29 Jun 2012 | Validated: Mon 02 Jul 2012 | Status: Pending Consideration

[The site plan shows this to be to the North of Cowley Hill, running between Chapeltown and the M1 to stop just before Hesley wood. RecyCoal say that a coal washing plant will be built, 35 local jobs created, and 395,000 tonnes of coal extracted over 3 years. Access to the site is directly on to Cowley Hill and thence to M1 J35. Soil will then be imported and planted with grass and 41,000 trees. "A" frame barriers will then be installed, giving access to hard surfaced paths. Ancient woodland on the edge of the site will be preserved. The site is within the Green Belt and two residents have objected, on nature conservation, amenity and environmental grounds. Also, Natural England are recommending that an "Environmental Statement" be prepared, but I don't know whether this has been done.]

[There are now some 220 comments on Sheffield City Council’s planning site, (including one with 143 signatures). My sample viewing of 5 of these showed only objections].

Application to approve details in relation to conditions 10. surface water disposal; 15. surface water discharge; 19. bird boxes 22. surface water drainage from hardstandings; 23. downpipes and 24. manholes relating to planning permission 12/01118/FUL

Land East Of The Railway South Of Smithy Wood Drive Sheffield S35 1QN

Ref. No: 12/03501/COND | Received: Wed 07 Nov 2012 | Validated: Wed 07 Nov 2012 | Status: Pending Consideration

[At first glance, the plans look extensive, complicated, and thorough. They also contain health and safety cautions about “trenches” and “shoring”.]

Alteration to remove restriction on trading hours for the petrol filling station (Application under Section 73 to remove condition no. 17 (Hours of Use) as imposed by planning permission 95/01514/FUL (formally 95/1087P)- Erection of a food retail superstore with car parking accommodation, a petrol filling station and car wash facilities

Morrisons Supermarket 299 The Common Sheffield S35 9WJ

Ref. No: 12/03314/FUL | Received: Wed 24 Oct 2012 | Validated: Wed 24 Oct 2012 | Status: Pending Consideration

[The proposed increase in opening hours has produced one objection from a neighbour on the grounds that the noise from the loudspeakers calling out instructions to petrol customers between the existing hours of 7:00 and 22:00 is already too great.]

Planning Applications Granted

Single storey extension to office building (Application under section 192)

Firth Rixson Johnson Lane Ecclesfield Sheffield S35 9XG
Ref. No: 12/02956/LD2 | Received: Tue 25 Sep 2012 | Validated: Thu 27 Sep 2012

[The site spans Station road, Johnson Lane, and the railway line, but the extension seems to be on the side of the building away from the road, so I could not see anything to comment on]

Ref. No: 12/02913/COND | Received: Tue 18 Sep 2012 | Validated: Tue 18 Sep 2012 | Status:

5. [No alternations are proposed to the windows, but a second layer of glass will be installed internally. Conditions remain in force that the glass is to be retained, and future alterations agreed with the Local Planning Authority]

8. [Obscured glazing cannot be installed because of 5. above, so this condition is discharged - but haven’t I seen some windows replaced with obscure glazing?]

Application to discharge condition numbers: 3. External materials 4. Site boundary treatment and 5. Landscape belt in relation to planning permission 11/03358/FUL

Bradburys Haulage 68A Yew Lane Sheffield S5 9AN
Ref. No: 12/02814/COND | Received: Tue 04 Sep 2012 | Validated: Tue 04 Sep 2012

[This includes a request to use artificial, instead of natural stone for the new building, on the grounds that it cannot be seen from surrounding buildings or a public highway. It also describes walls above 2.1m being clad in “Regent timber tongue and groove profile in Gold colour”. We have already objected to this application.]

Status: details approved, but conditions still remain in force

92 Mill Road Sheffield S35 9XQ

Ref. No: 12/03506/FUL | Received: Thu 08 Nov 2012 | Validated: Thu 08 Nov 2012

[This is not on Mill road itself, but set back behind the row of pre-fabs fronting on to Mill Road. On the other hand, the plans show a 1.8 meter front porch, a 3 meter rear porch, and a 2.1 meter side extension to a set of otherwise identical, unique pre-fabs.]

Status: Granted Conditionally

Pruning of Tree (Ecclesfield Conservation Area)

35 High Street Ecclesfield Sheffield S35 9XA

Ref. No: 12/03453/TCA | Received: Mon 05 Nov 2012 | Validated: Mon 05 Nov 2012

[This is a large sycamore tree with 3 trunk sections. It is proposed to remove the trunk which is endangering a garage roof.]

Status: Application Granted

Internal alterations to offices to form a dwellinghouse and erection of a 1.8 m high boundary fence and gates

8 Town End Road Sheffield S35 9YY

Ref. No: 12/03238/FUL | Received: Mon 15 Oct 2012 | Validated: Mon 15 Oct 2012

[This is the Jaguar Estates offices opposite The Square. I did not spot any external changes, even to the number of windows.]

Status: Granted Conditionally,[ conditions including

3. Fence shall be dark green

4. Windows facing No. 10 shall be of obscure glass

5. No other windows facing No. 10

6. No alterations materially affecting the external appearance of the property]

Single storey extension to rear of dwellinghouse with undercroft, ramped access and terrace

334 The Wheel Sheffield S35 9ZB

Ref. No: 12/03029/FUL | Received: Mon 01 Oct 2012 | Validated: Thu 08 Nov 2012

[This is one of the houses beyond The Wheel . The plans show a new ramp to the left of the building, going down to a new paved area, basement/garden store and bedroom extension at the back. From the proposed side elevation, the sloping roof of the extension appears to me to be well below the level of the existing house roof.]

Status: Granted Conditionally [facing materials shall match the existing building]
