1. Heritage Boards: Report on progress on the two new industrial heritage boards, and publicity and arrangements for the unveiling ceremony on Saturday, 1st December.
2. Christmas Tree: Report on progress, ready for the Carol Singing on Sunday, 9th December.
3. New Projects: Discussion on whether to apply for funding under the “small grants” scheme, and if so for what.

Communications

- Northern Community Assembly: A “Northern Community Assembly”, Wordpress email reminded us that their next formal meeting is at 18:30 on 17th October at Ecclesfield Primary School on the High Street. See their Agenda.
- Small Grants: I am not sure why, but we were emailed a copy of Sheffield City Council’s small grant scheme monitoring form. The next closing date for new applications for the Northern Community “Small Grants” scheme is 7th November 2012.
- Older People: We were emailed a copy of a poster for Sheffield City Council’s “Older people conference” at 10:30 a.m. on 23rd October, in Newton Memorial Hall, Cowley Lane, Chapeltown.
- Park: The Community garden is open on Saturday mornings 10am to 12 and on Wednesdays from 12 to 2pm. Anybody interested in volunteering can call 07957066404.
- A circular email reminded us of the election for the new “Police and Crime Commissioner”.
Information watch
- Yorkshire air Ambulance: There will be a Table Top Sale and Coffee Morning at the EPPiC in aid of this service on 20th Oct 2012 ( Saturday ) at 10:00.
- South Yorkshire Police’s, East Ecclesfield, "Safer Neighbourhood Team” are inviting people to come to their PACT meeting in the TARA building in Unity Gardens, Reneville Crescent on 7th Nov 2012 (Wednesday) at 18:00 to discuss policing priorities.
- The Ecclesfield Community Safety Group are inviting People in Ecclesfield and Grenoside to raise any issues that might concern them at their meeting in the Unity Gardens meeting room, 3 Reneville Crescent, Ecclesfield on Tuesday 13 Nov 2012 at 14:00.
· South Yorkshire Archaeology Day is on Saturday 24th November 2012. Anyone wanting to attend may need to book early.
· Macmillan Cancer Support are asking for collectors at Morrisons supermarket from 3-6 December.
- Sheffield City Council seem to be still offering new litter bins. Click here to suggest a location.
- Speed cameras are to be on Ecclesfield/Chapeltown Road again next week.
